First Rock Band 3 announcements: Limousines, Bloom, and new Parry Gripp

Artist Updates, Feature on February 4th, 2011 No Comments

We’ve got 3 brand new song announcements for you today, all of them for Rock Band 3 (with full keyboard and vocal harmony support):

- The Limousines “Very Busy People”. This song charted #1 on the alternative rock charts for several weeks in the summer of 2009 (including 3 weeks as the #1 song on Alt FM), and has a super-fun keys part.

- Bloom’s “Fight For Greatness”. An incredibly catchy tune, and a great challenge for expert guitarists.

- Parry Gripp’s “Spaghetti Cat (I Weep For You)”. Yep. That song.

All should be available in late spring 2011.

Riverboat Gamblers, Gang Of Four are RBN-bound

Artist Updates, Feature on September 18th, 2010 No Comments

Rock Band Network is really exploding. Can’t believe some of the amazing bands that are coming on board over the past couple of months.

One of those bands is Riverboat Gamblers. Not only do they have a coveted spot on the Rock Band 3 disc with their single “Don’t Bury Me…I’m Still Not Dead”, they also will be making several of their songs available via the Rock Band Network, thanks to Volcom Entertainment. First up is 2009’s crazy-good “Robots May Break Your Heart”. A second song from the 2009 album will also likely follow, but we can’t yet announce the track. Apologies (ahem).

Also, seminal post-punk rockers Gang Of Four have a new album coming out this year (”Content”, their first full-length in 15 years, out on Yep Roc Records), from which several songs will be making the transition to Rock Band. The two songs confirmed so far are “A Fruit Fly In The Beehive”, and “Who Am I?” It’s incredibly exciting to be working on new material from such an esteemed band – hopefully we’ll see some additional tracks too somewhere down the line.

Whoa! Nerf Herder in Rock Band Network? Dude.

Artist Updates, Feature on July 18th, 2010 1 Comment

Nerdcore giants Nerf Herder are long-overdue for inclusion in Rock Band, but that oversight will soon be corrected.  Starting in September, Nerf Herder and Fat Wreck will deliver a series of songs to the RBN, starting with American Cheese favorites “Mr. Spock” and “Welcome To My World”.

Nerf Herder frontman Parry Gripp already has a series of successful Rock Band Network tracks under his belt.  His latest release,  “Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom”, debuted at #3 on the download charts.  Can “Mr. Spock” get Parry the #1 spot? Quite possibly, doctor.
